Exhibition file: The roof finials of the côte fleurie

Placed on the top of the roofs, the roof finial expresses the taste of its owner but also the continuity of the regional tradition with production was peak in the 15^th century and revived for the seaside villas of the 19^th century.

This exhibition-file reveals the diversity of the roof finials and explains the savoir-faire of the Poterie du Mesnil de Bavent, a Pays d’Auge factory which perpetuates the tradition of Norman roof finials.
