The Villa du Temps retrouvé offers a range of fun cultural activities that can be adapted to suit the age of the group. The themes on offer are :
For all ages:
– ” What are we playing at? ” After a short visit on the theme of leisure activities in 1900, children can take part in games of reflection or dexterity that were popular during the Belle Époque.
Ages 3 to 5:
– ” The museum in all its forms “: A fun tour of the collections to discover the biggest, smallest or strangest painting in the museum… In the workshop, children have fun creating a surprising composition as they draw cards.
– ” Flower hunt “: During the visit, children can look for flowers in the works of art and create a 3D bouquet.
– ” Funny creatures “: A fun visit to the Louis Pasteur, the art of science exhibition, during which children learn more about microbes. In the workshop, they play with shapes and colours to create a mascot inspired by the microscopic world.
Ages 6 and up:
– ” What is a masterpiece? “: Children discover the masterpieces in the Villa du Temps retrouvé and learn how to look at them. In a workshop, they create the missing part of a work of art they have observed, using the artistic technique of monotype.
– ” Visit Cabourg “: Let’s travel back in time to understand what the first tourists came to Cabourg for. In a workshop, children create a postcard to send to family and friends.
– ” Writing with a pen “: This guided tour on the theme of writing is an opportunity to learn more about Marcel Proust. During a workshop, children can learn how to use a pen in the manner of writers in 1900.
– ” In Louis Pasteur’s laboratory “: Enter Louis Pasteur’s laboratory and learn about the scientist’s discoveries. In the workshop, children will have fun mixing art and science for an astonishing creation.
